Were you able to name the breed of the puppies in this thumbnail image?
A few hints: The breed descended from ancient Iberian hunting dogs that had the same morphology and function since the 10th century. In time, they came to be bred in the kennels of the gentry and Portuguese royal family which used the dogs in falconry, for fowling net, and to point for wounded game, but later, the breed became a highly popular hunting dog for society’s lower classes, mainly for red-legged partridge hunting. When English families settled in the area to open wine production businesses in the 18th century, they came to appreciate the breed and took dogs back to England where the breed played a role in the origin of the English Pointer (we think this is very apparent from the breed’s profile). Were you able to name the breed as the Portuguese Pointer?
