“Real” men adore little dogs. It’s in a commercial, so it must be true, right?
The actor and voice artist with the naturally-rich bass quality is Geno Segers, best known for his role as “Chayton Littlestone” in Cinemax’s “Banshee,”and for his part as Mufasa in Disney’s Australian stage production of “The Lion King.” With regards to the ad he shot in 2016, he tweeted: “Hanging with the real star of the New Navy Federal Commercial.”
He got that right (grin)
Still, having a hunky guy and a Pomeranian in the ad may not have helped Navy Federal. In 2016, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ordered Navy Federal to pay its victims $23 million and a $5.5 million penalty for shady debt collection activities that included violating the law by blocking debit cards, ATM machines and online accounts, and making empty threats to contact clients’ military superiors about overdue debts. On the same day that the CFPB’s order was released, a federal appeals court ruled the agency’s structure was unconstitutional, but didn’t order operations to cease. We’re not sure where things stand now, but it’s still a great commercial from a dog lover’s standpoint. We just wish it was as easier to get information about a canine actor as it is to get it about their human counterparts.
