RIP, Roy Clark

A tip of our hat and final respects to Roy Clark, country music legend and a star of “Hee Haw,” who passed away today at the age of 85.
Hee Haw was a country music and comedy show that last aired in 1993, and while it was an acquired taste, it had a strong fan base. It also had “Beauregard the Wonder Dog” (Kingfish the Wonder Dog in earlier seasons, and Buford the Wonder Dog in later seasons), who was actually played by four different dogs during the show’s run. It was a tough gig for a Bloodhound. The dog did nothing but sleep while “the Moonshiner,” (a couple of lethargic hillbillies) would tell a joke, or suffer through a song (see below):

Roy Clark may have been perceived as a “good ‘ol boy,” but the man could play a guitar:

Well done, Roy Clark. Rest well.

    • It’s been frustrating to us that while history tells us the rest of the story about a celebrity, it typically goes silent on their dog, or the dog they appeared with in a show. Naomi, we just don’t know what happened to the dog.
