Sarah Beurkens “Buried Treasure” Photo Challenge

Some people only see an old dog in this photo. We know better.

Old dogs can be cloudy-eyed, gray muzzled, hard of hearing, and creatures of habit. These issues are of little importance. The oldsters have learned to read us like a book, and when we look into their eyes, we see a depth of wisdom that is uncanny in a dog. They show us gratitude and limitless trust, and though they are vulnerable,  they forget how old they are and will protect and love us to their final breath.  They are the “buried treasure” of dogdom.

The Challenge:  This challenge is limited to dogs over ten (10) years old. You are tasked to show our judges why or how old dogs are the very best. Don’t forget to include an “I Purebred Dogs” sign in your composition (see below).

The Dreaded Small Print You Must Read To Enter

•••• This contest happens on May 1 on our Facebook page. It is open to US and International

•••• One entry per person; You may enter four different photo challenges. If you enter this one, you may enter three more;

••••  When submitting your photo entry on Facebook, you must indicate the name of this contest, Sarah Beurkens “Buried Treasure” Photo Challenge;

•••• Your entry must be for the 2023 contest. Photos submitted from previous years’ contests will be disqualified, and yes, we remember photos from one year to the next;

•••• A purebred dog must be in the photo, along with the message,  “IPurebred Dog,”  somewhere in the photo; 

•••• No photoshopping, and that includes the required sign. Be creative with how you use it, but our judges, David Frei,  co-host of NBC’s National Dog Show, and Westminster Kennel Club photographer, Jack Grassa, must see what you actually shot with your camera;

•••• Many people may help you take your photo, but the prize goes to the person submitting the winning photograph;

•••• Entering this contest implies consent that your photo may be shared on NPDD’s social media platforms, and by Sarah Beurkens;
