An entire generation of women stopped taking showers after seeing the movie, “Psycho,” and guess what? So did the actress who played the victim in the infamous shower scene, Janet Leigh, who died in 2004.
In a 1984 interview, nearly a quarter of a century after Psycho was released, Janet Leigh said, “I stopped taking showers and I only take baths. And when I’m someplace where I can only take a bath, I make sure the doors and windows of the house are locked. I also leave the bathroom door open and shower curtain open. I’m always facing the door, watching, no matter where the shower head is.”
Good thing Leigh was a dog lover! Several purebred dogs were part of her life including “Fox,” a Pomeranian, “Stoner” and “Big Red, Doberman Pinschers, a Poodle, Chihuahua, and “Von,” the German Shepherd Dog she gave her mother.
