Many breeds retain the color they’re born as into adulthood, but some don’t.  We’ve known of Havanese whose tan points turned cream, Pulik born gun metal black who become silvers, Pomeranians who change colors as they grow, and, of course, Bearded Collies who are born black, blue, brown, or fawn, but with maturity, may become any shade of gray from black to slate to silver, a born brown from chocolate to sandy, and blues and fawns showing shades from dark to light. This process of changing coat color from puppies to adult stages has a name, it’s called a “break.”  We’d love to see pictures of your dogs’ transition from their puppy color to their adult color.
