Earlier, we posted about the English Toy Spaniel, but let’s be honest. Some of us struggle with the difference between a Cavalier King Charles and the English Toy Spaniel. Here’s a guide!
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel by Marvin Blaine is available as a print, poster, pouch, towel and more here. The poster was created by Kathie Lawrence using a photo of her ETS, “Trump,” aka CH Bentor Trumpeter. The other dog remains unknown as it was a stock photo. The poster was created for the Eukanuba dog show the last year it was in Long Beach, and also appeared on the parent Club site for a time.
Thank you. I created this for the Eukanuba show the last year it was in Long Beach. The ETS is my dog CH Bentor Trumpeter. Trump. I have no idea who the Cab is as it was a stock photo. It was also on the parent Club site for a while but I replaced it with a wonderful article written by Cindy Huggins
Kathie Lawrence
Kathie, hurrah! We’re delighted to hear from you, and delighted to amend the post to give you credit! Thank you for this!
Kathie, I’ve always loved the ETS in this, but didn’t realize it was your “Trump”
Thank you for helping to educate about the differences of these two breeds.
Additional info, the English Toy Spaniel is known as the King Charles Spaniel in other countries. We also sometimes call them “Charlies.”
When people abbreviate/shorten the name of their Cavalier King Charles, it should be abbreviated to “Cavalier” not to King Charles, as King Charles is another name for the English Toy Spaniel.
Thanks, Denise!
Thank you so much for this article
You’re so welcome, Sue! We’re pleased to have shared it!
I have both in my home and love both breeds dearly! They are equally sweet and wonderful companions!
