Artist’s Thoughts:  When I created these images, I wanted to send a message about what a Greyhound is. it’s not just an animal born for speed and racing, but it’s also an animal with a brain and a great heart that needs love and to be loved, not only considered for its function. It is surely a special breed of dog shaped so aerodynamically to be perfect for racing, but the business race is corrupt and ruthless and leave these gorgeous animals in the worst fate and in very inhuman conditions after they have ”done” satisfying the business span. It’s also a cry for what is happening in Spain where these dogs are killed or left to die in the streets, more and more. I used a Spanish Greyhound in one of my posters. The plague of Greyhounds needs to be stopped and people need to know this amazing animal has a heart and a brain, besides a perfect agile body with long legs and a deep chest. I have heard a heart of Greyhound is actually bigger transom other dogs. Too many animals are soldiered by humans just for gain and their body parts, and to me this is a horrid fact that needs attention. i tried to underline that with boxing things and separating parts. As much as the wiping of my hand on the Greyhound put on the very edge of a sheet of paper, tells you that if things keep going the way they are, these dogs will disappear, not just in their speed, but in their existence. This dog looks away with wisdom, knowledge of being used and abused, and still, the incredible forgiveness that each dog gives to us humans, despite the horrid things they go through for us, too often.
