As far as we know, only one breed standard calls for a “saucy expression,” and it comes from the official AKC breed standard for the Chihuahua: “General Appearance: A graceful, alert, swift-moving compact little dog with saucy expression, and with terrier-like qualities of temperament.” If you’ve ever had a Chi level this expression at you (or, more accurately, through you), you don’t soon forget it.
