There’s a Name for These Eyes!

An Akita’s plush tail is a breed trademark. Seen typically curled over the dog’s back, each Akita’s tail set is unique, and if you spot a group of them at, say, a dog show, you’ll notice that very few look the same.

Another singularly beautiful aspect of this breed is one that isn’t seen on every dog. Depending upon its coloring, some Akitas have lovely dark markings under their eyes; when the markings appear, but don’t extend out to the top of the dog’s head, it’s called “eye shadow.”

We’d love to give credit to both the dog and the photographer in this image found on Pinterest, but maddeningly, we got the dreaded “page not found” when looking for the source. Does anyone recognize the dog?
