We’re Aging. Who Isn’t?

It is a reality of the dog fancy that its demographics is “greying, so when a commercial like the one below comes along, it’s a little unsettling. Still, we prefer to adopt Mark Twain’s outlook: “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

Enter the InnovAge commercial. They are rather proud that their new TV ad was filmed entirely in one of their PACE centers, but what made us notice their commercial was the Pug at the end:

It’s not the first time that InnovAge has used a purebred dog in one of their commercials:

The company makes a special point of advertising its dog-friendliness, and even brags that a cattle dog or bulldog might be found relaxing at their office (depending on the day of the week).  Kudos to them for recognizing that having a pet helps seniors reduce stress, combat loneliness, lower blood pressure, increase social interaction, encourage physical activity, and actually help their owners learn. Wait, isn’t that true of having a dog at any age?
