The rich variety of people who support National Purebred Dog Day is something of which we’re quite proud. From professionals to pet owners, our readers comes from all aspects of dog ownership, and we value each them. Many of you compete with your dogs, and if you’ve found that over the years, you’ve collected boxes of ribbons and rosettes, this post is for you. “Ribbon Recycling” collects new and used show ribbons, and distributes them to therapeutic riding facilities and other therapy programs for the handicapped that can’t afford their own. The program was started by Sue Copeland who began noticing ribbons tossed in the dirt at horse shows. To read the rest of her story, and to learn how to donate your ribbons, click here.
