White Greyhound of Richmond

It’s our final clue about tomorrow’s Purebred of Interest – and it’s a “two-fer.” Our first hint isn’t so much a hint as an explanation: Because of this breed’s rarity outside its home country, we won’t be able to populate every hour with artwork and products of interest, the breed is just too rare.

Your more “meaty” clue is this one: Vår ras är svenska (with any luck, Google Translate is trustworthy).

This post thus far is utterly unrelated to our image of a well fed Greyhound, part of 76 heraldic symbols dating to Tudor times. This one is of the White Greyhound of Richmond, the symbol of Henry VII’s father, the Earl of Richmond. We write the words, “well fed,” and opine it’s never wise tell a sighthound owner that their dog is too skinny. Honestly, a fat sighthound is not pretty, (or healthy).
