1) Which of the following facts makes the Skye Terrier different from most other terrier breeds” Answer – C. The similarity of today’s Skye Terrier to that of 16th century terriers is unusual. However, other breeds of terrier like the Skye were bred to hunt; the Cairn Terrier, like the Skye, originated onthe Isle of Skye.
2) Which of the following breeds is thought to perhaps be descended from the Aftscharka? Answer – C) Komondor. Interestingly, although the Kuvasz is indeed Hungarian, its name is Turkish for “Guardian of the Nobles.” The Puli, also Hungarian, is believed to have descended from dogs traveling with the Cuman people as they migrated from Tibet.
3) What breed is known as the barking birddog of its native country? Answer – B) The Finnish Spitz. The National Dog of Finland directs the hunter to the location of game by a distinctive ringing bark or yodel;
4) What American general defending his Cocker Spaniel with these words: “Jeannie, that is my chair and Blackie can get into it any time he wants to?” Answer – A Douglas MacArthur. The MacArthurs also kept an Akita and a terrier whom the General enjoyed feeding with scraps at the breakfast table each day;
