A Pedestrian Crossing We Like!

Now a tourist guide from Zadar, Sandra Babac, has started an initiative to place a pedestrian crossing in Zadar in the pattern of a Dalmatian. It would be situated Ulica Zadarskog Mira 1358, a high traffic street among tourists who pass near Forum.  Babac saw a real need for a crossing there since so many tourists use the path as a shortcut to the famous Zadar Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun monument;  As long as there’s a crossing, why not use the opportunity to promote the connection between Dalmatia and the Dalmatian breed?

Why not, indeed?  Most cynologists believe the Dalmatian originated in Croatia since the first illustrations of the breed were not only found in a Croatian altar painting in Veli Lošinj dating back to 1600–1630, but in a fresco in Zaostrog, as well.
