Noble Dogs of the Free People

To the Tuareg nomads in the sub-Sahelian desert, these canine companions are referred to as “Aidi- n’Ailluli” – Noble Dogs of the Free People.

Is that a great name, or what?

We know these exquisite creatures as the Azawakh.Extremely loyal and deeply affectionate, the Azawakh has a complex temperament described by its breed club as being the sharpest temperament of all the sighthounds. They can go from lap dog to ferocity in an instant. Our sources are conflicting about the role of the Akawakh. Some say Azawakh in the Sahel are rarely treated as pets or companions, but others indicate that they are so highly regarded as to be considered members of the family.
