The “Bee Sting Tail”

You won’t find this in the Pointer’s AKC breed standard, and more’s the pity because “old school expressions” used by veteran dog men and women are often vivid. The current AKC standard simply states that a Pointer’s tail should be “heavier at the root, tapering to a fine point,” but “old school” Pointer breeders refer to it as a “bee sting tail.”

“Outfoxed” by Daniel Eskridge is available as a print here.
