Bride for a Borzoi

History is replete with examples of purebred dogs being traded for goods, and being gifted to distinguished dignitaries. We’ve come across an account that in the 1800s, the hand of a “princess of the blood” was given in marriage to an elderly hunter in exchange for a Borzoi. Descendents of the bride vigorously dispute this. Grandmama, they maintain, was exchanged for two Borzoi.
