Entry Details: I have been working on a series called “Headshots” for the last two years and have just completed the 107th — each piece is about 8 by 10 so I was racking my brain, thinking about how I could use them for this competition, knowing that the winning piece needed to be big enough to make a poster. Just today I realized how to do it — the result is attached: “Celebrating the Diversity of Our World”

Artist’s Thoughts:I have been breeding and showing Silky Terriers under the Tessier prefix since 1981. We have bred over 110 AKC champions and have had several top ranked dogs during that time. This year at Nationals Tessier dogs took Best in Sweeps, Best of Opposite in Sweeps, Reserve Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best Veteran.

I wrote my first dog book in 2002 “How To Turn Your Dog Into a Show Off”. I since have written two “Dogs 101” books — Yorkshire Terriers and Pomeranians. Besides our kennel website I also run about-small-dogs.com.

My dogs make me whole.
