Painting Details: My first concern for this painting was photos. Where could I get copyright free photos of all the shots I needed. I have a pretty big fan base on my Dog Art page so I asked for help. Dog owners from all over the US responded, and some of the photos were pulled from previous entries to my giveaway contest. 

Artist’s thoughts: I have trained dogs for 50 years, starting with a Doberman Pinscher and a Samoyed when I was 10 years old. I was called “Dog Girl” in grade school, a name I have grown to love, since I now make a living painting dogs from around the world. I love all the breeds, which makes my job so exciting. I receive about 100 entries a month for my monthly portrait giveaway- each month having a different theme. I can’t own all the breeds but I can spend time with them on Facebook.
