Now this is pretty cool.  The AKC’s newest program is the Farm Dog Certified (FDC) test in which dogs work through 12 exercises that replicate situations they might come across in a farm environment.  The dog must display trainability, self-control, confidence and trust in their owner throughout the experience.  AKC clubs currently licensed for AKC Herding will be allowed to hold the Farm Dog Certification tests which can be held as a class at a Herding event, or as a stand-alone test.  Clubs can apply for the FDC test starting July 1, 2016.
