Painting Details: My whippet Ollie inspired this painting. The sheer athleticism, power and perfection combined with the delicacy and sweetness, and gentleness of a sighthound. Then there was the glittery glamour which they seem to posess indicated by the gold leaf behind.  Also it has to be said, the counter surfing abilities and inherent greed, and my model here is quite obviously wanting a tasty morsel, licking her lips!

Artist’s Thoughts: I have owned and loved dogs since I was 17, when I got my first German shepherd, Max. He was extraordinary, we attained WDex when he was 4 years old. When he was 5 he died of cancer. Nothing had ever hurt so much! I was so young.  I then got his son, Yan, and I have had dogs all my life mainly GSD but lately I have downsized a bit, I have a GSD Megan, Jay a merle working collie and Ollie my whippet, who is the love of my life! So devoted, I love sighthounds.
