In 1984….

George Orwell’s predictions for the year notwithstanding, 1984 stood out for a few other things:

Indian Prime minister, Indira Gandhi, was assassinated; the UK and China agreed that Hong Kong would revert to China in 1997;  Joe Kittinger became the first person to complete a solo transatlantic flight in a helium balloon, and the Space Shuttle Discovery made its maiden voyage.

People payed $2.50 to see Ghostbusters in the movies, but at home, they watched Miami Vice, and during commercials, they heard Clara Peller ask, “Where’s the Beef?”  Vanessa Lynn Williams became the first Miss America to resign, the Edmonton Oilers won the Stanley Cup, and Prince regaled us with his epic song, When Doves Cry.

Can you name the most popular dog breed in America in 1984?  Can you name the other nine breeds that rounded out the top ten breed in AKC registration numbers that year? Brownie points if you get them in order. The answers are below the photo below which is not one of those breeds (we just like the picture!)
