Joan Baez: Icon and Bouvier des Flandres Owner

She was vilified by some, heralded by others, for her antiwar activities, but few ever disputed the talent of American folk singer/songwriter, Joan Baez. Baez is also a purebred dog owner, earlier, of a German Shepherd Dog, and now with “Ginger,” a one eyed Bouver des Flandres. See Baez and Ginger here.

In 2014, Baez went on the, “Dog-God-Dock Boggs-and-Bob Tour. In an article about the tour,”When Bad Things Happen to Good Dogs,” author, Ross Altman wrote, “When JB brought out her beautiful and gentle large dog on stage—a one-eyed Bouvier named Ginger she described as “the most laid-back creature” she’d ever known. And Ginger may have rung the curtain down with the most amazing dogdamn harmony I have ever heard—captured on Joan’s cell phone during a rehearsal when Ginger suddenly joined her in mid-song and stayed with her until the last note. If there is a Grammy for dogs she has my vote.”
