We are never more delighted than when a breed club honors National Purebred Dog Day with a photo challenge sponsorship. Such clubs are the lifeblood for a breed, their sole goal to protect and preserve the legacy of their breed. Please welcome first time sponsors, the National Bergamasco Sheepdog Alliance, provisional with the United Kennel Club. The Bergamasco is a sheepdog with an unusual coat, but do not the mistake of describing it as “corded,” it is, in fact, “flocked.”
The Club’s clever contest theme? “Flock Together!”
The challenge:
“Flock” describes the coat of an amazing sheepdog breed, of course, but it is also group of sheep (and birds) assembled together. As a verb, it refers to a group moving towards something with excitement. Your job is to creatively interpret the word “flock” into a photograph using your dog(s) to illustrate your interpretation. Our judges love to laugh, be surprised, or get impressed with a different way of seeing a theme, so be thinking “outside the box” with this one;

•••• This contest happens on May 1 on our Facebook page. It is open to everyone;
•••• One entry per person; You may enter four different photo challenges. If you enter this one, you may enter three more;
•••• When submitting your photo entry on Facebook, you must indicate the name of this contest, the “Flock Together” Photo Challenge
•••• Your entry must be for the 2022 contest. Photos submitted from previous years’ contests will be disqualified, and yes, we remember photos from one year to the next;
•••• Within the photo, your image must include a purebred dog and one of the following either downloaded from the link or handmade:

The “I L♥ve My Purebred Dog” sign

•••• No photoshopping, and that includes the required sign. Our judges must see what you actually shot with your camera;
•••• Entries without the sign will be disqualified;
•••• Many people may help you take your photo, but the prize goes to the person submitting the winning photograph;
