If and when National Purebred Dog Day is passed by the United States Congress in 2017, there might be one purebred dog thinking that it’s about time he got some “props.” “Oliver,” a Cocker Spaniel belonging to Communications, Director Sheryl Kaufman, has been a regular in Congressman Jim Bridenstine’s office since 2013. If you stop by the office, you might even get one of the Oliver’s “Spaniel and Statesman” business cards. Kaufman says that Oliver gets more photo requests than the Congressman. She adds, “The photo business cards are necessary because Oliver often gets too excited and interested in his visitors to sit still for a photo op.”
Oliver is the only member of the Oklahoma Congressman’s Washington, DC office that was actually born in Oklahoma. When Congressman Bridenstine’s wife learned that dogs were welcome in the House of Representatives, she determined that Oliver just had to be a part of the DC office team. Oliver is a wonderful ambassador for responsible dog ownership and shows how a well-loved dog benefits everyone around him. Do you have a dog that goes to work with you? Share below!
