NPDD veterans know how we feel about Top Ten lists and Infographs, and that we think they’re worth sharing to illustrate what the general public ingests as information about our dogs.

In January, 2016,  a map of the most popular dog breeds by state was put together by Barkpost (which may explain the presence of a “doodle” as a breed).  The results weren’t comprehensive; Barkpost cited its sources as Vetstreet, CBS, the AKC, Embrace Pet Insurance along with a disclaimer that the map was an approximation as states tended to have limited sampling and might not accurately represent the state as a whole.
