The Purebred Inkwell

We love sharing “collectables” here, and some of the best dog paraphernalia are old ink wells. For the benefit of youngsters out there, inkwells were a small jars or container used to hold ink. Usually made of glass, porcelain, silver, brass, or pewter, the inkwells were often decorative renderings of purebred dogs. Below are just a few we found on-line (including our thumbnail image of a 19th Century Bronze Dog, yours for $1,250).
