PureDogTalk’s “Purely Dogs Talking” Photo Challenge – Photo Contest 2018

National Purebred Dog Day is delighted to welcome PureDogTalk as a new photo contest sponsor, but PureDogTalk is hardly new to dog people who eagerly await the next podcast of conversation about dogs between dog people. As for the theme of this challenge, we let Laura Reeves, the host of PureDogTalk, explain:
Our dogs talk to us, and to each other, every day. With their eyes, their ears, their voices, their tails and their body position. Your photo submissions should *clearly* show your dog communicating – talking – with you or another dog in an identifiable way. (begging eyes, play bow, howling, teaching moment between adult and puppy, etc)
Photo Contest 2018

It’s not hard to figure out what this dog is communicating!

The winner of this challenge has a choice between two PureDogTalk Prize Packages:

1- One year free membership in the PureDogTalk Facebook Patrons Group granting access to behind the scenes outtakes, extra podcast segments, articles and/or videos ($240 value)
or
2- A one month breeder/kennel/product/service ad on the PureDogTalk website ($325 value)
and
3- A one hour consultation (virtual or live at a time and location to be decided) with PureDogTalk Host, Laura Reeves, on behavior, basic obedience or conformation dog training. ($100 value)
You know those annoying rules that appear in The Small Print? Below are ours. Don’t even think about not reading these because your photo could be disqualified from consideration if it doesn’t meet the dreaded rules:
  • This contest is open to the entire planet, and anyone who can get through a worm hole;
  • No photoshopping! Our judges, David Frei, and Westminster Kennel Club photographer, Jack Grassa, must see what you actually shoot with your camera;
  • One photo submission per person per contest challenge;
  • The submitted photo must be taken for this contest. Old photographs won’t be considered;
  • Your photo must include a purebred dog;
  • Your sign must also include one of the following:
The “I Purebred Dogs” sign
The “Happy National Purebred Dg Day sign
The “I My Purebred Dog” sign
  • You can download and print these signs from the files linked below, or you can make your own sign. You may also substitute the sign with an official NPDD t-shirt, tote bag, bandana, hat, or bumper sticker, all of which are available here.
  • Do not photoshop the “I Purebred Dogs, “Happy National Purebred Dg Day” or “I My Purebred Dog” on top of your image. The signs or NPDD gear must be part of the photo shoot;
  • Many people may help you take your picture, but the prize goes to the person submitting the winning photograph. Judges decisions are final;
  • A photo submission implies consent that it may be shared on NPDD’s various social media platforms, and by PureDogTalk for promotional use;
  • When submitting your photo on Facebook, you must indicate the name of the photo challenge you are entering, which in this case is the “Purely Dogs Talking” Photo Challenge;
  • This contest happens on May 1. A full explanation of how to submit your photo, where and when can be found here.
  • Download the “I Purebred Dogs” sign here;
  • Download the “Happy National Purebred Dg Day” here;
  • Download the “I My Purebred Dog” sign here;
