Artist’s Thoughts: When I read that the painting should reflect the diversity of breeds, the first image to pop into my head was of a Great Dane staring down a tiny dog. From that image, I developed a dog park scene with several dogs either interacting with each other or doing their own thing. The thought of a Brittany (bird dog) staring at a tree popped into my head after my sister told me her Brittany stares at the birds in the backyard. And as the owner of two German Shepherds, I of course had to include one in the painting, investigating a tunnel.
