How do you say the Schipperke‘s name?
Many people say “SKIP-er-kee,” and some say that it’s more correctly pronounced “SHEEP-er-ker,” We’re partial to this one (which we’re told is the correct pronunciation in Dutch):

I don’t think that’s right. This just came up in one of my Facebook groups where someone asked about breed names that get mispronounced. I had always heard skipper-kee from schip owners, so this was a novelty to me. I just combed the internet and I finally found this–the first two are native speakers 🙂 https://forvo.com/word/schipperke
