Artist’s Thoughts: I enjoy doing dog portraits in oils for people and I wanted to do a painting of Ellie, a yellow lab, taking her nap on the sofa and dreaming about having fun with her friends on National Purebred Dog Day. At the same time I wanted to be able to depict other purebred breeds and some of their characteristics.
