The Bee Sting Tail

You won’t find this in the Pointer’s AKC breed standard, and more’s the pity in our view as we’re rather fond of old school expressions which are often so vivid. The current standard simply states that the dog’s tail should be “heavier at the root, tapering to a fine point,” but “old school” Pointer breeders refer to it as a “bee sting tail.” Bzzzzzzzzz.
