For a dog owner who has everything else, consider gifting them “Between Two Dogs” by photographer, Shaina Fishman. Inspired by a photo (left) she took earlier in her career, she determined to come back to the idea of a book filled with similar images of interactions between puppies, their parents, or their siblings. The book contains endearing photographs that include a wealth of breeds, including Pugs, Corgis, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Springer Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, Dalmatians, and more. The dogs were found through an animal talent agent, and in some cases, Fishman had to wait up to two months for certain puppies to be old enough to bring into the studio. All the owners were present for the shoots to make the sessions more fun and comfortable for the dogs.
Fishman studied commercial photography at Syracuse University, and has worked with some of the best fashion photographers in the industry. She lives in New York City with her husband and a spunky papillon, “Cosmo.”
