The Inner B Word

You either know Christine Lavin or you don’t, but fans appreciate the New York City-based singer-songwriter’s for her contemporary folk music and sense of humor. One newspaper critic called her, “A fearless folkZinger,” but the late Paul Newman described her as”a fresh kick in the pants!”

Musically, Lavin is known for cutting edge acoustic guitar performances, but her songs also alternate between comedy and emotional reflections on romance. Check it out:

In 1999, she produced the song you just heard, “Getting In Touch With My Inner Bitch.” The album knit together live performances from five different cities to showcase her music, humor, and commentary. It may not be everyone, but Lavin is nothing if not authentic.

We have no evidence that the artist ever owned a Pug (or even a dog),  and having found nothing in the way of an explanation as to why this breed appeared on this album, we can only conclude that she either liked the breed, or thought it was bitchy. If any reader knows otherwise, do let us know!
