The Peruvian Inca Orchid Dog breed standard (the breed also known as the PIO) allows for both hairless and coated dogs which can be born in the same litter, and differ only in ear carriage (the coated dogs have semi-prick ears). The coated variety has a short to medium-length single coat and can come in several different looks. The dog’s hair can be coarse or soft, and dogs with a longer coat may have feathering on the ears and tail.
