“Wee Jock”

If you like Scottish things……

If you like dogs included in your TV viewing…..

If you’re a fan of the BBC, or just need a fun, easy series to watch on TV, you might want to check out the comedy-mystery-drama series, Hamish MacBeth.

Along with his West Highland Terrier named “Wee Jock,” Hamish MacBeth, a police constable, keeps the peace in the small town of Lochdubh in a way that keeps him from being promoted out of his dream job. Check out the opening credits below (and take note that the video is the entire first episode of the first season):

The show, which ran for three series from 1995 to 1997, was based on a series of mystery novels by M. C. Beaton. In the books, Hamish owned two dogs, the first named, “Towser,” and the second named,”Lugs.” In the TV series, Hamish has “Wee Jack.”

Hamish MacBeth is available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Acorn (think of it as a British Netflix).

    • The most we could learn is that the canine actor was a dog named, “Zippy”
