An Olympian’s Dog

There are roughly 161 days until the next Olympics heading our way in February 2018 (does anyone else not get anything done for the two weeks its on TV?) and to hold you over, we share a moment below from 2016. This video shows a pommel horse routine by British gymnast, Louis Smith, who received a bronze medal and a silver medal on this apparatus at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics respectively.

Louis Smith would go on to compete in the British television dance contest, Strictly Come Dancing, but as we’re a “dog site,” we thought you’d be be interested in knowing that Smith’s canine companion is “Luna,” a Siberian Husky. In an interview K9 Magazine, Smith said, “Everyone thinks that I’m full of beans and can never sit still but Luna has so much more energy than I do – she never stops moving and when I come home from a long day training she jumps on me as soon as I step through the door and wants to play.” Sound familiar, Husky owners?
