Artist’s Thoughts: I have always painted ‘portraits’ of dogs, trying to capture the feelings they exhibit. Humans like to imagine what they are feeling and thinking when viewing. I used the Bulldogs because they are so unique as a breed, with looks that almost should not be. The Black Lab is known by all and is one of the most loving, happy dogs going. Their expressions are so evident. Once again, I try to find the ’emotions’ of the dogs that humans attach to. Each portrait allows viewers to ‘feel’ as the dog would.
