National Purebred Dog Day celebrates all manner of purebred dog** – including the goofy. Literally.

Meet Bill Farmer, the voice of Disney character, “Goofy,” for 25 years.  Goofy arrived in 1932 as a character who demonstrated various aspects of modern culture. Badly.  From driving a car to throwing a football,  Goofy couldn’t do any of it. ***Debate continues about Goofy’s breed, or if he was even a dog. Some sources maintain that Goofy is actually a cow, others are resolute that he is a hound. We’ll go with hound. What we know with a bit more certainty is that he was Walt Disney’s personal favorite character.
