Artist’s Thoughts:  My endearing Welsh Springer Spaniel was a very fine thief and beggar of food, especially steak, hence “Horrible, Horrible Beggar.” In “Wretched, Wretched Doodle” he was caught in the act. And finally in “My Own Surly Monster” the name of which came to me in a dream, he was quite demanding of his walk, and stared me down, until I complied. His personality needed to become immortalized in these paintings
