The Rwanda National Police Choice of Breeds

The Rwanda National Police German Shepherd Dog,English Springer Spaniel,Labrador Retriever, Rwanda National Police,drug detection,explosive detection works with three purebred dog breeds, each with a unique role based on either size or speed, and all used to detect drugs and explosives: The German Shepherd Dog, the English Springer Spaniel, and the Labrador Retriever.

When the Rwanda National Police came into existence in the year 2000, one of the units that was most needed was the canine brigade which was established at the time. Today, the force runs a fully fledged dog regiment with ambitions of their services to all corners of the country.

It has been proven that it’s impossible to beat a sniffer dog however much someone may try to hide drugs or explosives. Experts have equated the search and finding capacity of one dog to that of 50 trained personnel. For more on the story, read this.
