We defer to the experts who own this breed, but it’s our understanding that in Norway, a Norwegian Elkhound cannot compete in conformation classes unless it has earned a hunting certificate. This is true for other breeds, as well. In Finland, for example, most retrievers and spaniels must pass hunting aptitude tests in order to achieve a Finnish Champion title in conformation.
