American Manchester Terrier Club’s “Driven” Photo Challenge: Open to Terriers Only

The Manchester Terrier is a fabulous breed, but also a highly endangered one. In 2020, only 155 Manchester Terriers were registered in their country origin, its lowest number yet since 2016.  We urge terrier owners to show their support to Manchester Terrier owners and breeders working hard to save their breed by entering the American Manchester Terrier Club‘s “Driven” Photo Challenge. The theme is drawn from the determination seen in the eyes of “Albus,” the Standard Manchester Terrier you see here. “Albus” is owned by Gary King and photographed by Connie Fore.

The challenge: “Drive” is what puts urgency into everything a “driven” personality does. This will to succeed at whatever the goal characterizes most terriers whether they’re rounding up local rodents, or reestablishing world order. Your challenge is to illustrate this in your entry. Because of the theme and prize, this contest is limited to terriers. Please note the special rules that follow;

The prize: The American Manchester Terrier Club has donated a playing card in the terrier group deck – the 4 of Diamonds – from National Purebred Dog Day’s Playing Card project; A photo of the winner’s dog will appear on the “face” side of the 4 of Diamonds along with text of the winner’s choosing (this can be the dog’s name, an accomplishment, etc.) The card number and suite is non-negotiable.

Special Rules: This contest is limited to owners of terrier breeds.  In the event an entry wins the contest, those entering it should have ready to go, a photo of their dog, prepared text (no more than 66 characters including spaces) and a signed photograph copyright release form if the photo was taken by a professional.  Failure to provide a photo, text and release form within three days of the winner being announced will result in forfeiture of the prize.
