If you own an Old English Sheepdog, you have had good company. In addition to five of the wealthiest families in the period of American industrialism, the Morgans, Vanderbilts, Goulds, Harrisons and Guggenheims, all owning “bobtails,” here are a few more names you might recognize: Jean Harlow, Franklin D. Roosevelt (his OES was named, “Tiny,”) Sir Paul McCartney, actresses Katherine Ross, Lainie Kazan, Jeanette MacDonald and Joan Van Ark, Frank Serpico, Captain Kangaroo, Canadian artist, Emily Carr, Charles Osgood (broadcast journalist), creator of the “For Better or For Worse” comic strip, Lynn Johnston, silver screen siren, Veronica Lake, actor Edward Everett Horton, Rush Limbaugh, New York Yankees star pitcher, CC Sabathia, singer/poet, Rod McKuen, Robert Ripley (of Ripley’s Believe it or Not), and Robert Kennedy.
