In the 1990’s, Giant Schnauzers were the exclusive breed used by the police force of the State of Delaware. This association lasted a full decade.
One source reports that the Delaware State Police had six or seven Giant Schnauzers in that time, dogs described as being from East German border patrol lines that were made redundant with the fall of the Berlin wall. As a result, a small wave of popularity for the breed was reflected on Schutzhund fields.
