Artist’s Thoughts: Beagle, water dog, border collie, St. Bernard, husky, Jack Russell, golden, bulldog and pug all represent the nine types of purebred dogs that the National Purebred Dog Foundation lists. I tried to show the distinct personalities and energies of each. I decided to unify them using the theme of the labyrinth, contemplating canines, because their involvement in our lives provided the path to great pleasure. I put a portrait of my own golden at the center—at the heart of the labyrinth is DOG.
