The “Dachshund” Teapot

Feast your eyes on a hand-built “Dachshund” teapot made of white stoneware clay. The dog’s head and the paws are sculpted, the tail, dog bone and the handle formed by press mold. The tail forms the teapot’s spout, while the lid is formed in the shape of a dog bone. The “leatherwork” pattern of the body of the bag and the tail are press mold. The commissioned piece was created in 2007 by Meryl Ruth and sold to a NC collector. To see more images as well as a chronology of the process: http://www.merylruth.com/index_files/teanieweenie.html
